Day 2 - Discover the Ancient Wonder of Sigiriya
Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock, is a giant rock fortress in Sri Lanka that rises about 200 meters above the land. It was built in the 5th century by King Kashyapa as his palace and stronghold. The rock is famous for its ancient fresco paintings of women, the remains of a huge lion-shaped entrance, and its advanced water gardens with fountains that still work today. At the top are ruins of the royal palace, and from there you can see stunning views of the forests and villages around. Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is often called the Eighth Wonder of the World.
